Dental Services

Murphy Family Dentistry offers many services for our patients.  Below is a brief list of services we offer.  Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation.

Fillings

If a filling is needed to restore a tooth we, in most situations, do white (composite) tooth colored fillings. Dr. Murphy is very skilled in selecting the perfect shade to match your current teeth so the filling is not noticeable to the common eye. With today's new dental advances we can usually treat most cavities within 1 or 2 appointments and quite comfortably as well. If you are a proper candidate, some anesthetics last less than an hour.

Extractions

Dr. Murphy does many extractions in office. No longer is sending you out of office for a specialist always needed. With just a few x-rays and exams we can make the proper decision for your care and extraction but please keep in mind we will refer to a specialist if it is in your best interest.

Implants

Dr. Murphy has been placing and restoring dental implants for more than 15 years. Dental implants are an excellent option for single or multiple tooth replacement as well as denture stabilization. Some of the benefits to dental implants are facial structure preservation, saves your present healthy teeth, keeps your smile looking younger, and allows you to eat what you want. It's an easy process with a lifetime of benefit.

Denture/Partial Denture

Murphy Family Dentistry does offer dentures and partial dentures as one of our many services. After a consultation, exam, and x-rays Dr. Murphy can determine the best treatment for you. After a series of appointments getting the best fit, shade, and tooth placement you can have your new denture or partial made.

Crowns and Bridges- CEREC

A crown is a restoration that covers, or caps, a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size. Its purpose is to strengthen or improve the appearance of a tooth. Crowns are placed for a variety of reasons.  Most of our crowns are made by our Cerec CAD/CAM digital dentistry in office, often in 1 visit!! Through a series of scans, after the tooth has been prepped for crown therapy, Dr. Murphy designs and creates your new crown.  Through this technology same day dentistry has been achieved and the need to wait several weeks to finalize treatment is not always needed for crown therapy.
Bridgework is a fixed prosthetic used to replace missing teeth that is attached to the adjacent teeth. After the preparation is completed, a scan of your teeth is taken and sent to our labs for design of your bridge. A temporary bridge is in place for a period of time before the permanent bridge is finalized and placed.

Root Canal (endodontic) Treatment

Natural teeth are meant to last a lifetime; however when a tooth becomes injured or decayed, it can often be saved through a specialized treatment called a root canal. The treatment usually involves the removal of the tooth's pulp and replaced with materials that seal off the root canal from its surrounding tissues. The pulp of the tooth is a small thread like tissue that was important for tooth development. It contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissues that lie in a canal the runs through the center of the dentin.

Invisible Braces- Clear Correct

One of the great things about modern dentistry today is we can now offer invisible braces. We begin the treatment with a consulation to decide if you are a candidate for invisible braces.  If Dr. Murphy determines they can help your smile, a full mouth digital scan of your teeth is taken as well as  x-rays and photos of your teeth. We send the images and diagnostics to the Clear Correct lab where Dr. Murphy works with their skilled staff to create your individually improved smile. Through a series of aligners that are changed out by you at home as well as in our office so each phase of treatment is monitored. In approximately 6-18 months your treatment is complete.

Tooth Whitening (Bleaching)

We do offer teeth bleaching at Murphy Dentistry! It's a rather easy procedure. Your first appointment consists of impressions in which we make a mold of your teeth for which a specialized tray to fit your teeth is made. After the tray is ready we have you return to the office and chart you current shade and explain the at home process to achieve the shade you desire.
